The dialogue with Russia is necessary, Estonian President Kersti Kaljulaid stated. In her opinion, it is necessary despite all the existing contradictions, Sputnik news agency reports.

It should be recalled that President of Estonia visited President Vladimir Putin last week. Their talks took place in the Kremlin. Head of the Baltic republic also took part in the opening ceremony of the Estonian Embassy after the restoration.

Vladimir Putin and Kersti Kaljulaid discussed current issues in relations between Moscow and Tallinn, including the situation of Russian-speaking population of Estonia. President of Russia received an invitation from his colleague to visit the Congress of Finno-Ugric Peoples, which will be held in Tartu next year.

Meanwhile, not everyone liked the visit of Estonian President to Moscow. The Lithuanian Foreign Minister expressed his indignation. According to Linas Linkyavicius, Tallinn needed to coordinate its actions, since this could split the unity of Baltic countries.

Member of Federation Council Franz Klintsevich compared the reaction of Vilnius with the position of the “senior in the house” who “follows the behavior of the residents”. Probably, those who laid such functions on Lithuania began to seriously worry that the building of Baltic Russophobia might crack, the senator explained.

He stressed that the unity of Baltic states should be built on a healthy basis, which is what Moscow calls for.
