A graduate of Russian Academy of Ballet in South Africa Chantal de Jager is finishing her first year at the choreographic faculty of Kazan State University. In case of successful graduation from the university, she will become the first ballerina from South Africa who will receive a bachelor's degree in choreographic art in a Russian university, Slovo i Delo reports.
Chantal de Jager arrived in Russia after five years of study at Russian Academy of Ballet in South Africa thanks to the scholarship she received. Preparing to study in Kazan, South African learned Russian. She is attending the course of Classical Ballet and Traditional Russian Dance.

The first-year student has already declared herself and her talent, having won the All-Russian dance competition in classical dance. In addition, she became the first ballerina from South Africa who performed as part of the Imperial Russian ballet when it toured Spain. A few years ago, Chantal de Jager represented South Africa at the International Ballet Competition in Venezuela.
Teachers of Kazan State University note the diligence, performance and perseverance of the ballerina. She is currently working on a dance that reflects the folk traditions of her homeland.
