Fyodor Konyukhov has promised to continue his solo world voyage next year, TASS reports. In 2020, he is going to reach Australia from Chili, and then head to New Zealand. The rowing boat is now under repair, besides it is necessary to wait till the off-season ends.

The traveler said that he had a flight to the stratosphere scheduled for the fall.

Konyukhov spoke at the opening of the exhibition of his paintings, which took place in the Russian Museum. He called his latest journey the most difficult of all that he made. The traveler added that he missed the ocean when on the ground, and when in the ocean he missed people. “I always want to go back,” he added.

To become a traveler, one definitely need talent, like an artist, a poet, a writer. It is also necessary to work hard and learn, be educated, Konyukhov stated.

It is a pity that modern children dream to be financiers and lawyers and have completely forgotten about such professions as pilot, sailor and geologist, the traveler mentioned.

Note that Konyukhov launched the expedition on December 6, 2018 from the New Zealand port of Dunedin. He began his world tour less than a week before his 67th birthday. Konyukhov is going to spend about two years in his sixth round-the-world trip. The traveler crossed the Atlantic Ocean seventeen times. He also became the first representative of Russia, who visited the seven highest peaks in all parts of the world.
