Russian regions surprise tourists with national dishes

The gastronomic map of Russia combines one hundred cafes and restaurants in different regions of the country, RIA Novosti reports. The season of the gastrofestivals began a few days in Suzdal, while Moscow hosts the Week of the Altai Republic.

According to the representative of Rosturism, Natalia Osipova, food has a significant meaning for the vast majority of travelers. The third part of the holiday budget is allocated for food, and this is quite a large amount.

Rosturizm, Google Russia and the non-profit organization that represents the project plan to sign an agreement according to which the Gastronomic map of Russia will appear on Google Maps. Tourists will be able to get acquainted with the dishes of national cuisine in the places they plan to visit, choose authentic restaurants, plan to visit gastronomic festivals.

So far, one hundred restaurants and cafes, which were ready to cooperate and work on their menu, have been put on the map, project coordinator Ekaterina Shapovalova explained. There are not so many restaurants with authentic Russian cuisine, and the project will increase their number.

Note that Gastronomic Map of Russia project was carried out by Rosturizm. It was timed to the World football championship. Each region of the country has its own specialties or national dishes, drinks, products from local producers. It is necessary that tourists could get acquainted with high-quality natural and delicious cuisine of the nations of Russia. In the summer of 2018, during the tournament, football fans lined up to try unique Russian dishes.
