Innovative approaches to studying and teaching of Russian discussed in Hanoi

On October 10, 2019, the International Scientific Conference called Innovative Approaches in the Study and Teaching of the Russian Language in the Modern World was organized by the Hanoi branch of the Pushkin Russian Language Institute, where the Cabinet of the Russkiy Mir is located, and the University of Hanoi as part of the events dedicated to the Cross Year of Russia and Vietnam and the 60th anniversary of the creation of the University of Hanoi.

The conference was attended by 150 Russian scientists and teachers of the Russian language from Vietnam, Russia, Belarus, Uzbekistan, Myanmar.

At the grand opening, conference participants and guests were greeted by the adviser to the head of the Department of International Cooperation of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation Chinkov, representatives of the Ministry of Education and Training of Vietnam and the Russian Embassy in Vietnam.

In his opening remarks, the Rector of the University of Hanoi Nguyen Wang Chao emphasized that the event would serve as a connecting link promoting scientific and academic cooperation in the region and the world.

Topical issues of teaching Russian as a foreign language, a comparative description of Russian and Vietnamese languages, translation, the use of information technology in teaching Russian as a foreign language, and problems of intercultural communication were discussed at the plenary and breakout sessions.

The conference showed the interest of Russian specialists in Vietnam in the further development of international scientific and educational cooperation.
