The cyclist from Ufa Anton Sazonov overcame the second stage of the trip called Children of the World. He returned to Russia and will come home on November 4, the Sterlegrad news agency reports. He covered almost seven thousand kilometers, crossed the territory of eleven countries, drove through the Pyrenees and Alpine mountains. It took him one hundred thirty-four days, during which he traveled by bicycle. The last point of the route was the capital of Portugal.

According to Sazonov, the journey was calm, without sensible bounds, people were friendly to him everywhere: in Ukraine and in European countries. Many warm meetings took place along the way, especially the former compatriots living abroad were warmly welcomed by Anton.

He took with him several hundred letters written by students from schools in Ufa, Samara, Saratov, Izhevsk and other cities for his peers from Europe. They were handed over to students of twenty schools from six European countries. In Lisbon, the traveler met with schoolchildren at the Matryoshka Russian Training Center.

Anton Sazonov expressed the hope that the letters would be the beginning of joint projects implemented by children from two countries. They must demonstrate openness and equality of universal values. Children wrote about the places where they lived, about Russia and its regions.

The Children of the World expedition is being implemented under the auspices of UNESCO with the support of the Bashkir branch of the Russian Geographical Society. Traveling to Europe is the second stage of the expedition, the first passed in 2018 through Central and Southeast Asia and finished on the island of Bali.
