The week of the Russian language began in France, the Russian Education website reports. It is included in the program of educational expeditions organized with the assistance of the Ministry of Education. They are going to take place in Paris, Lyon, Strasbourg and Marseille.

The activities are aimed at promoting the Russian language and popularizing Russian culture are designed for teachers and students of the Russian language, those who are interested in Russian culture and history. Compatriots and residents are invited to take part in the event.

The participants were offered a wide and diverse program. It includes popular science lectures from philologists and teachers, creative meetings, quizzes, contests and games. Presentations of books written by linguists and literary scholars are planned within the framework of the week.

A discussion on the works of modern Russian authors will be held in Paris and Marseille, a lecture on the Russian language and its differences from other Slavic languages - in Strasbourg and Lyon.

The routes of international educational expeditions pass through the territory of nine European countries. In addition to France, they are held in Poland, Estonia, Belarus, Latvia, Hungary, Lithuania, Bulgaria and Austria.

The main task of the large-scale event is to increase motivation for learning the Russian language, develop the popularity of Russian literature, promote Russian culture and strengthen the position of Russian education. Another important goal is the professional development of teachers of the Russian language.
