Visit Petersburg city tourist information office will appear in Spain, TASS reports. This tourist office will be the eleventh in a row. Its main task will be to popularize the tourist opportunities of the city. The contract was signed on Friday, November 29.

According to Nana Gvichia, a representative of the tourism development committee of St. Petersburg, it has already been decided that Visit Petersburg will be located in Barcelona. But at the same time, its activities will cover the whole country.

Nana Gvichia assured that the tourist information office could already be considered open. The office will be in special demand, given the introduction of electronic visas for visiting St. Petersburg. Spain is among the countries for which these visas are available.

The agreement was concluded last month, when the Welcome to St. Petersburg! Road show was running in Spain and Portugal. The number of tourists from Spain in St.Peterburg is growing annually.

At the moment, ten Visit Petersburg offices operate outside of Russia. The first began to operate in the Chinese capital. Visit Petersburg opened in Paris. Information centers have opened in New Delhi, Tehran, Taipei, Leipzig and other cities. This project is a public-private partnership. Budget funds are not provided for it.
