International expeditions about Russia to be held in Latvia and Estonia

The route of the international About Russia in Russian educational expedition will run from December 6 to 12 across the territory of Latvia and Estonia, Baltia reports. The event is organized by ALFA-DIALOGUE center from St. Petersburg with the participation of the Ministry of Education of Russia. The project partners are the Herzen State Pedagogical University, Association of Teachers of Literature and Russian, Latvian Association of Teachers of Russian Language and Literature, Union of Teachers of Russian Language and Literature of Estonia.

The route of the expedition will cover Riga, Liepaja, Daugavpils, Tallinn, Kohtla-Järve and Narva. The initiators of the large-scale project were Russian, Estonian and Latvian public organizations.

The program includes classes in the Russian language, open lectures, master classes by leading philologists from different countries. A tour in places related to the work of Fedor Dostoevsky is also planned within the event. The lectures will be dedicated to the Russian literature, Russian cinema, Russian language on the Internet. Participants will also discuss the history of Russian writing, the Russian avant-garde.

Russian compatriots, schoolchildren and students studying Russian, teachers of schools and universities are invited to take part in the events. Anyone who is interested in the Russian language, Russian culture and history can join them. Participation is free of charge. All participants will receive certificates at the end of the event.
