Kulikovo Field qualified for title of best museum in Europe

The Russian museum has been included in the list of applicants for the title of the European Museum of the Year, Rossiyskaya Gazeta writes. The Kulikovo Field Museum Reserve has been nominated for the prestigious award.

The prize is awarded for new approaches to organizing museum work and for organizing communication with visitors. The jury evaluates how the content is presented to the public. The results of the competition will be announced in early May, as part of the annual conference of the European Museum Forum in Cardiff.

A new museum, which opened no earlier than three years ago or substantially modernized its expositions, can qualify for the competition. Kulikovo Field introduced a new museum complex in the village of Mokhovoe, where The Legend of the Mamaev Massacre. New Reading exposition is situated. The unique exhibition differs from the traditional museum space. In addition to historical artifacts, it is full of multimedia and interactive elements. Visitors get the opportunity to touch and try on a lot of the items presented in museum halls. The museum management believes that it is interesting for both children and adults, people with the most diverse backgrounds and levels of knowledge. The museum is also made convenient to visit for people with disabilities.
