Russian Center in Thessaloniki celebrates 10th anniversary

19.12.2019

On December 19, 2009, the Russkiy Mir Foundation, together with the Friends of the European Idea Association, the Russian-Greek Druzhba Society, the city hall of Thessaloniki and the Consulate General of the Russian Federation in Northern Greece, opened the Russian Center.

Over the years, the Russian Center in Thessaloniki has become an important element for maintaining spiritual, historical and human closeness between the inhabitants of Thessaloniki and many cities of Russia. It has also organized educational Greek-Russian programs for children and adolescents, the awarding of Russian cosmonauts, concerts of Russian music and ballet stars, song and music festivals. The center took an active part in the events of the Year of Russia and Greece and the Year of Russian Language and Literature in Greece.

The Russian Center will celebrate its anniversary with a sport event: on December 22, all friends of the Russian language and culture are invited to take part in a badminton match.
