The Hulu streaming service presents the first
trailer for The Great series, the Rossiyskaya Gazeta newspaper writes.
The series tells about the life of the Russian Empress Catherine the Second and her husband Peter the Third. Elle Fanning plays the empress, while Nicholas Holt portrayed Peter the Third.
The filmmakers decided to do everything so that the Western audience would not get bored. They did not hide the fact that they were not going to make a gloomy biographical film, which was true to the history. They sought to make an entertaining show.
Last year, HBO released Catherine the Great miniseries. In the series, Catherine is called the monarch and politician who changed the place of the Russian Empire in the world in the eighteenth century.
The main role in the four-part series is played by the famous British actress with Russian roots Helen Mirren. The series about Catherine the Great became a large-scale and expensive project with a star cast of actors, spectacular scenery and costumes, as well as the shooting in nature and a large number of extras.
