A Russian charity ball was held in Luxembourg. It is considered one of the most striking events in the cultural and social life of the country. This year the ball was already the ninth in a row, the Nizhegorodskaya Pravda newspaper writes.

The best performers from different countries traditionally take part in the ball. The organizer is the Russian Club of Luxembourg with the assistance of the Russian Embassy and the country's authorities.

According to Russian Ambassador Vladimir Sorokin, the two countries have relations not only in the political and economic spheres, but also in culture. One of the evidences for this is the Russian Ball. All proceeds from the ball are sent to the Podsolukh and Children's Villages - SOS charitable foundations.

One of the invited stars was the opera soloist from Nizhny Novgorod Alexey Koshelev. He opened the music program with Prince Orlofsky’s aria from Strauss' operetta The Flittermouse. Victoria Twardovskaya from the Belarusian Bolshoi Theater, other opera singers, musicians and dancers performed at the ball. The special guest of the event this year was the famous actor Gosha Kutsenko.
