The next season of the Living Classics reader's competition has started, the Prosveshchenie publishing house writes on its website. The first stage is held in schools, where everyone can read fragments from their favorite books. The participants are required to choose a work of prose and learn the fragment by heart.

Three winners will continue the tournament at the municipal stage. The best will win a trip to the Artek children's camp.

According to Marina Smirnova, who heads the Living Classics foundation, this is a competition for both reciters and readers. The project helps to broaden horizons for students. She recalled that, first of all, it is necessary not only to read the text well and expressively, but also to make the right choice. Marina Smirnova advised choosing books that the participants wanted to share with others.

Competitions are attended by Russian-speaking children living in different countries.

This season, it is planned that the regional stage will be complemented by auditions with teachers of Boris Shchukin Theatre Institute. Teachers of one of the most famous creative universities in the capital will go to three dozen regions. The vote on the website of the project will determine their destinations. High school students will be able to take part in the auditions, including those selected during the school stage. The best readers, noted by the teachers of the theater institute, will have the opportunity to go straight to the second stage of entrance examinations.
