The humanitarian aid from Russia will be delivered to the United States today, April 1, the Kommersant newspaper writes. The An-124-100 of the Ruslan Ministry of Defense, loaded with medical masks and equipment, flew overseas from the Chkalovsky airfield near Moscow.

The humanitarian assistance was discussed by Russian President Vladimir Putin and his American counterpart Donald Trump during a telephone conversation on March 30. The initiative came from the Russian leader, Trump accepted the proposal with appreciation.

The equipment will be handed to hospitals immediately after the Food and Drug Administration check.

Earlier, Trump stated that the US have “great relationship” with other countries. "I have to say, we’ve had great relationships with a lot of countries. China sent us some stuff. Russia sent us a very, very large plane load of things. Medical equipment. Very nice," stated the American leader.

According to some reports, in the United States there are already more than 160,000 cases of infection, the pace of the disease there is higher than around the world. Almost 3,000 people passed away. Trump himself called “a good scenario” if the number of victims does not exceed 200,000.
