First online cinema club take place in Budapest

07.04.2020

On April 1, a regular meeting of the film club of Russian studies took place in Budapest - this time it was conducted online.

The Budapest Russian Center decided not to cancel its popular film club, but to transfer it to the online platform. Those who registered for the session got access to the next feature film in advance. Thus, a discussion was held live on the announced time. In the history of the cinema club, this conversation became the longest - it did not last 30-40 minutes, as usual, but an hour and a half.

Anna Melikyan's Mermaid was released in 2007. The discussion touched on relations between mothers and daughters, growing up, the connection between reality and dreams, life in the provinces and Moscow, commercialization, the impact of advertising on people's minds and unrequited love.
