The Russian Foreign Ministry called political speculation the anti-Russian attacks by Turkish extremist circles and some officials of the countries, dedicated to the 76th anniversary of the forcible resettlement of Crimean Tatars, the Ministry stated on its website.

The anti-Russian actions took place online. The MFA took the participation of a number of official representatives of the Turkish authorities in those actions with surprise and concern.

The Russian diplomatic service expressed outrage at the unlawful comparisons of Stalinist repressions and modern Russian realities. The Foreign Ministry called on the Turkish society to regard the historical events of the last century with an unbiased eye and not to allow speculation on the tragic events for the sake of the political situation.

The diplomats recalled that anti-Russian statements and actions of this kind contradict the development of partnership relations between Moscow and Ankara.
