The Council of the Russian-speaking community of Great Britain and Northern Ireland held an online conference dedicated to the birthday of Alexander Pushkin. The directors of Russian-language schools in the region and Russian teachers discussed interdisciplinary approaches to learning the Russian language, according to the Facebook page of the Council.

The articipant of the conference, the head of a music studio from Devon, Ekaterina Shetliff, said that music and songs increase the motivation to learn the Russian language. According to her, the songs help in learning new words, have a beneficial effect on speech skills, introduce the culture of the country, and also do not allow to forget the past.

The Council of the Russian-speaking community of Great Britain and Northern Ireland spoke about the events dedicated to the Day of Russia. On June 12, several online concerts will be organized with the participation of famous musicians from Russia and the UK. Works by Tchaikovsky, Glinka and Rachmaninov, as well as foreign composers will be performed during the event.

In addition, the Council launched an international campaign, which will allow children from Great Britain and Northern Ireland to congratulate Russian peers on the holiday.

As Russian World reported, compatriots from different countries join the celebration of Russia Day. They launch festivals and flash mobs online, organize exhibitions and contests.
