Moscow and Barcelona to expand cooperation in tourism

Moscow and Barcelona plan to expand bilateral cooperation aimed at developing the tourism industry, RIA Novosti reports. The authorities of the two cities have signed a corresponding agreement.

The capital's administration explained that the flow of tourists between two megacities has always been high. Numerous Moscow residents often travel to the capital of  Catalonia, and Barcelona residents are frequent guests of the Russian metropolis.

According to the deputy mayor of Moscow Natalia Sergunina, the cities will conduct joint research and engage in information support. It is also planned to train employees in the tourism sector and conduct joint campaigns.

Sergunina added that the Russian capital had done a lot to increase the number of partner cities. Meetings continued even during the self-isolation period, they were conducted online.

Moscow and Barcelona intend to regularly exchange their experiences and share successful practices. Joint measures will be planned when the epidemiological situation improves.
