Knowledge at Home project brings together teachers from 83 countries

More than a 1000 students from 83 countries joined the Knowledge at Home project, which was conducted by St. Petersburg State University (SPbU), the Izvestia.78 website reports.

The project is implemented jointly with Rossotrudnichestvo and was intended to support educators who teach Russian as a foreign language abroad and teach other subjects in Russian. According to the organizers, educators need information about modern teaching methods.

The project consists of several cycles of free webinars. The first cycle was dedicated to teaching Russian as a foreign language. In addition, participants were told how to increase the effectiveness of preparation for testing in the Russian language. Leading specialists of SPbU, authors of textbooks and other experts took part in the webinars.

A lot of attention was given to the discussion of urgent issues of pedagogy and specific teaching methods of other subjects - chemistry, biology, physics and others.

The organizers believe that the project is of great practical importance. It allowed improving the quality of teaching the Russian language and increasing the professional knowledge of webinar listeners.

Teachers from Russia, Greece, the UK, Turkey, the USA, Ukraine, Armenia, the Czech Republic and other countries took part in the project. The webinars aroused such high interest among the audience that it was decided to extend the series of online lectures until the beginning of autumn.
