Russia became first in the ranking of 60 countries for competencies in technology and data science. The rating is presented in the new report of the Coursera's Global Skills Index. According to experts, the top position is confirmed by the high level of technical education in leading Russian universities, TASS reports.

The authors of the study also explain the high position of Russia by the growth of the gross domestic product (GDP) and the share of the economically active population. The creators of the ranking assessed the level of qualifications in 60 countries, 10 industries and 11 areas of study in the field of business, technology and data science. The indicators were obtained based on the analysis of information on 65 million platform users.

In addition to success in these areas, Russia entered the top ten countries with the most competent businessmen. According to the authors of the rating, Russia has taken the 9th line of the international rating due to the growth in the number of Russian entrepreneurs who have entered the world markets.
