On the eve of August 20, both Russian and foreign air carriers from several Russian cities began to make flights abroad. The planes will fly from the Kazan, Kaliningrad and Novosibirsk airports, RIA Novosti reports. The Federal Air Transport Agency explained that the decision to open these cities was made by the government.

It is expected that passenger flights to some of the CIS countries will reopen in early autumn.

Russia resumed international flights from August 1. The planes went abroad from Moscow, the Moscow region, St. Petersburg and Rostov-on-Don. The air traffic was  restored with Great Britain, Turkey, Tanzania and Switzerland.
