Airplanes of Russian airlines are resuming flights to the Egyptian capital, RIA Novosti reports. Egypt has become the 5th country with which air traffic is being restored.

So far, the only air carrier, Aeroflot, has opened flights to Cairo. The planes will fly from the Moscow's Sheremetyevo airport 3 times a week: on Monday, Wednesday and Saturday. Flights in the opposite direction will fly on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays.

In a week, the Egyptian airline EgyptAir will join Aeroflot.

Russia resumed international flights on August 1. The planes went abroad from Moscow, the Moscow region, St. Petersburg and Rostov-on-Don. The first countries with which air traffic was restored were Great Britain, Turkey, Tanzania and Switzerland.
