The memory of the Soviet partisan was immortalized in Caldiero (Italy), according to the Rossotrudnichestvo website. In a place located in the north of the country, there is a monument in honor of Vladimir Tulisko. The Nazis killed him near Verona. The life of the young man was cut short on April 25, 1945, when Italy was liberated from the Nazis.
According to Russian Ambassador Sergei Razov, it is very important that the monument is opened in the year of the victory anniversary. He recalled that the partisan fought bravely in the ranks of the Italian Resistance. The diplomat is confident that modern generations should not forget about the courage and resilience of warriors. They sacrificed their lives so that their descendants could live in peace.
Italian Ambassador to Russia Pasquale Terracciano stressed that Soviet partisans fought shoulder to shoulder with the Italians. He has no doubt that this most important page in history should be well known to young people.
Representatives of local authorities took part in the opening ceremony of the monument along with Italian and Russian diplomats. They were joined by members of veteran associations from some European countries.
The monument was created by the famous Italian sculptor Matteo Kavaioni together with a young master from Russia Nadezhda Golysheva. The project was supported by the Explore Eurasia Association and its president Antonio Fallico.
