Russian planes have began flying to Japan, RIA Novosti reports. Since November, the air traffic, which was interrupted due to coronavirus infection, is restored.

The decision to resume air traffic was reciprocical for both countries. In addition, the following conditions were taken into account: within two weeks, the number of new cases of the disease should not exceed 40 per 100,000 population, the increase in the number of cases should not exceed 1% in two weeks, and the coronavirus spread coefficient in seven days should not exceed the mark of 1 point.

There will be two flights to the capital of Japan from Moscow and one from the capital of Primorsky Krai. At first, Aeroflot will fly once a week, then twice.

Russia began to resume international flights on August 1. The airports of Moscow, St. Petersburg and Rostov-on-Don were the first to restore international traffic. Kazan, Kaliningrad and Novosibirsk were added to the list since August 20. In the fall, air traffic with Belarus, Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan was also restored. South Korea, Egypt, UAE, Turkey, Great Britain, Switzerland, Tanzania and the Maldives were added to the list later.
