The Russian COVID-19, Sputnik V, has been registered in Palestine, RIA Novosti reports. The Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF) explained that this country became the first in the Middle East, where the use of the Russian drug was approved. The Palestinian Authority has carried out registration under an accelerated procedure without additional clinical trials in the state.

The first batch of the vaccine will be delivered to Palestine in January, all deliveries will take place during the first quarter of 2021. The vaccine will be supplied by Indian, Chinese and South Korean partners of the Russian foundation.

According to Kirill Dmitriev, head of RDIF, the number of countries that are interested in the Sputnik V vaccine is increasing every day. The head of the RDIF expressed confidence that this should lead to an early joint victory over the coronavirus, as more and more people gain access to the vaccine.

The number of people around the world who have received a coronavirus vaccine with the Russian drug has already exceeded one and a half million people.
