Schoolchildren from Buryatia won a friendly match with chess players from Helsinki. The tournament was held under the slogan "Think one step ahead - preserve nature" and was timed to the Day of nature reserves and national parks, Infpol.ru reports.

The chess tournament took place at the Buryat State University site and was organized by the Buryatia Chess Federation. The opening of the friendly match was attended by the head of the republic and the President of the International Chess Federation (FIDE) Arkady Dvorkovich, who addressed the participants online.

In addition to schoolchildren, professional chess players, as well as cultural figures, journalists and bloggers of Buryatia took part in the tournament.
