Every 5th missile launch on the planet in the past year was carried out using Russian-made engines. The Roskomos state corporation announced that Russian engines developed by NPO Energomash were used in 2020 in 24 starts out of 114, which is more than 21% RIA Novosti reports.

Russian engines sent 15 rockets into orbit from Russian spaceports, 7- from American and 2-  from French. These were "Soyuz-2", "Proton-M", "Angara-A5", "Soyuz-ST", as well as the American Atlas-5 and Antares. It is noted that all 24 launches were successful.

Last December, an updated version of the Angara launch vehicle was launched from the Plesetsk cosmodrome, which can transport more than two tons of cargo to a geostationary orbit. Scientists will continue to work on improving the rocket in order to increase its efficiency and reduce the cost of production.
