A new modern test for diagnosing coronavirus infection was developed by Rospotrebnadzor specialists, RT reports. An innovative test can accurately determine the presence of a virus in humans. In addition, it makes it possible to speed up the process of diagnosing the disease.

The department noted that the new set of reagents for express analysis reduces the amplification time by five or more times, and the total testing time by three to four times. For clinical samples with high and medium viral loads, the sensitivity and specificity indicators were 100%.

Now the total testing time does not exceed 1,5 hours, depending on the sample, versus 4-5 hours with conventional PCR.
