Russian tennis player Daria Kasatkina wins international tournament in Melbourne

Russian woman Daria Kasatkina won the main prize of the Women's Tennis Association (WTA) tournament with a prize fund of more than $235,000, the competition was held in Melbourne. For the 23-year-old Kasatkina, the victory was the first in WTA tournaments since 2018, in total she has three association titles, TASS reports.

In the decisive match, the 23-year-old Russian woman beat Maria Bouzkova from the Czech Republic. The Czech won the first set in a bitter struggle, and the Russian tennis player turned out to be stronger in the second and third rounds. For Kasatkina, the victory turned out to be an important page in her sports biography. Before that, she won the WTA tournament more than two years ago, and the competition was at home - Kasatkina won the Kremlin Cup.

Daria Kasatkina occupies the 75th line in the international ranking, yielding twenty-five positions to Maria Bouzkova, beaten in Melbourne. The highest achievement of the Russian woman is participation in two quarterfinals of the Grand Slam tournaments.
