The Social Democratic Party of Germany (SPD) proposed to facilitate the visa regime with Russia, the Izvestia newspaper writes. The SPD is part of the German coalition government headed by Chancellor Angela Merkel. This proposal is included in the draft of the party's electoral program. The document is planned to be supported at the congress, which is scheduled for late spring.

According to German politicians, this measure will help develop youth exchanges between Russia and Germany. The authors of the document are confident that peace and stability on the continent are possible not against Russia, but only together with it. The draft program notes that, in relations with Moscow, the SPD is betting on readiness for cooperation and the development of dialogue.

The party plans to deepen contacts between the civil societies of Russia and Germany. One of the steps on this path will be to facilitate the visa regime for participants in youth exchanges.
