Russia's Foreign Ministry: Washington brought relations with Moscow to point of complete freezing

The American authorities, whose list of violations of international law is constantly lengthening, do not have any moral right to "give notations" to others, according to the Russian Foreign Ministry. The department called the new sanctions against Russia, which were introduced simultaneously by the United States and the European Union, "a hostile anti-Russian attack."

Unable to cope with the problems inside the country, the US administration is again applying its favorite method - it wants to turn public attention to the image of an external enemy.

Moscow has repeatedly drawn attention to the fact that this course is devoid of meaning and logic. It simply emasculates relations between the two countries even more, which, thanks to the efforts of the White House, have reached "the point of complete freezing."

It is absurd that a provocation arranged in the West is announced as a reason for introducing new sanctions restrictions. The whole situation with the mythical poisoning of blogger Alexei Navalny was needed only in order to continue to interfere in the internal affairs of Russia.

The foreign ministry stressed once again that Moscow would not put up with this, and promised reciprocal measures.

Regardless of US sanctions, Russia will continue to defend its national interests, rebuffing any aggression. The Russian Foreign Ministry urged colleagues "not to play with fire."

The head of the FSB Alexander Bortnikov, the general prosecutor Igor Krasnov, the first deputy head of the Presidential Administration of the Russian Federation Sergei Kiriyenko, the head of the FSIN Alexander Kalashnikov and others were affected by the new American sanctions. The restrictions also affected several scientific organizations.

The United States also decided to stop providing Moscow with any assistance other than urgent humanitarian assistance, not to provide loans and other financial support, reduce space cooperation, and introduce a number of other restrictions.
