Residents of several Tunisian cities took part in the Maslenitsa celebration, which took place in the International Cultural Center of the city of Hammamet. A fancy-dress performance with dances, contests and Maslenitsa treats awaited the guests, the Coordinating Council of Organizations of Russian Compatriots of Tunisia reports on Facebook.

The event was organized by the council of Tunisia with the support of the Russian Embassy and the Rossotrudnichestvo office. Russian compatriots living in Sousse, Tunisia and other cities of the country came to Hammamet to participate in the holiday.

The children were told about the traditions of the Maslenitsa celebration and were offered to celebrate the holiday of the meeting of spring the way their ancestors did. The guests sang Russian songs and dances, danced in a round dance, played folk games, which were accepted in Russia for Maslenitsa.

Adults did not lag behind the younger generation, they appeared in front of them in Russian folk costumes. Guests were treated to pancakes with sweet fillings.
