The painting by the Russian impressionist artist has joined the collection of contemporary art in the Vatican Museums, Planet360.info writes. Now the work of Igor Ladozhanin "Spring in Assisi" will be kept there. It will take its place in the permanent exhibition.

The famous Russian artist has been living in Italy for many years. The colorful Italian nature, Roman views have already become the leitmotif of his work. Igor Ladozhanin's paintings are filled with light and air, they perfectly convey the atmosphere and charm of Rome.

The artist himself noted that this is a great honor. It is gratifying that now the Russian art school can be seen in one of the best and most prestigious collections in the world. According to him, he first came to Italy after receiving a diploma from the St. Petersburg Academy of Arts.

Igor Ladozhanin recalled that Russian artists have long traveled to Italy to get acquainted with the most interesting examples of fine art. Gradually, Italy, Rome, with their history, architecture, natural beauties, captured him completely, the artist explained. At the same time, he did not sever ties in Russia, and next month the artist will join the participants of the All-Russian plein air project "Russian Atlantis", the venue of which will be Novgorod and Rostov the Great.

Igor Ladozhanin's paintings were presented at various collective and personal exhibitions. They are in state museums and private collections in different countries.
