International team to create website about language and culture of peoples of Arctic

The website dedicated to the cultural heritage and languages ​​of the indigenous peoples of the Arctic will start working next year, TASS reports. According to the project manager Anatoly Zhozhikov, he has already received the approval of the working group on sustainable development of the Arctic Council. The project will operate until 2024, work will begin in 2021. An international team from the Arctic countries will work on the website.

The audience of the portal will be very wide, it will cover the indigenous peoples in the Arctic. In addition, the site will be of interest to people who study the languages, culture and traditions of the indigenous peoples of the North. The project will be the result of international cooperation of leading experts from the countries of the Arctic region. Interviews with natives, collection of documents from archives about their linguistic, cultural and historical heritage are planned.

 Russia will develop an online translator for indigenous languages.
