The pandemic did not prevent the7th International Caribbean Music Festival "Hot Sand", which brought together performers and fans of the art song on the island of Vieques in Puerto Rico. Within the framework of the festival, which lasted for a week, face-to-face and virtual concerts, as well as excursions around the island and other events were held, Russian America reports.

Over the years of the festival's existence, performers from Russia, Canada, almost all American states and many European countries have become participants in Hot Sand.

This year, due to the coronavirus pandemic, not everyone was able to fly to Vieques, but they became participants in the festival. The concert of Alexei Kudryavtsev, who lives in the Czech Republic, took place online. Live concerts were given by Svyatoslav Yarmolenko, the soloist of the legendary Belarusian ensemble Syabry.

In addition to concerts that took place in the evenings, guests of the festival were able to take part in excursions, educational trips around the island, friendly competitions and performances.

The festival traditionally hosts evenings in honor of famous Russian bards, as well as songs in English and Spanish to attract the attention of residents and guests of Puerto Rico.
