The Russian-Egyptian Year of Humanitarian Cooperation will open in late spring, TASS reports. According to the Deputy Minister of Culture of the Russian Federation Alla Manilova, it was planned to be held in 2020, but the pandemic prevented the implementation of these plans. Hopefully, she added, this year everything will turn out as planned. The opening ceremony is to take place in Cairo and is scheduled for May.

Alla Manilova added that such programs are instruments of support for international tours. They are included in projects based on international commitments, countries among which such cross years occupy a large place.

Another cross year will begin in Salzburg in the summer. Russia will receive the status of a guest country of the legendary Salzburg Festival as part of the Russian-Austrian Year of Theater and Literature. It is planned that the festival will be opened with a performance by Teodor Currentzis.
