Year of Interregional Cooperation between Russia and France has started

The Russian-French cross year of interregional cooperation started the day before, on March 19. It is reported on its Facebook page by the Russian Foreign Ministry.

The ceremony took place online. It was attended by the Russian Ambassador to France Alexei Meshkov, his French counterpart in Russia Pierre Levy, representatives of the ministries and departments of both countries, the heads of the Leningrad and Novgorod regions, the mayors of the French cities of Nice and Dijon.

This cross year is one of the most ambitious projects on the agenda of bilateral relations between Russia and France for the current period. The program of the Year of Interregional Cooperation includes more than 150 different projects in the economic, cultural, educational, tourism and many other areas.

The cross-country project aims to expand ties between the two countries. It will play the role of an additional incentive for deepening contacts between the regions of Russia and France. The cross year will also help improve mutual understanding between the peoples of our countries, accentuate the diversity of culture and traditions of Russia and France, the Russian Foreign Ministry said.
