The Year of Germany in Russia will last almost until the end of this fall, TASS reports. The corresponding decision was made in Berlin. Germany hopes that this will enable many additional joint projects to be implemented. In addition, it will contribute to the development and strengthening of relations between the two countries.

The German Embassy in the Russian Federation recalled that the Year of Germany began last September. Unfortunately, the diplomats noted, the unfavorable epidemiological situation and restrictions aimed at countering the spread of coronavirus infection forced some of the events to be abandoned. Large art exhibitions, tours of creative groups, concerts and festivals were postponed to a later date. The embassy recalled that they were postponed to the second half of this year.

Therefore, it was decided to extend the Year of Germany. The closing ceremony will take place within the framework of the International Cultural Forum in St. Petersburg. Germany will be its special guest.
