The Victory Dictation will take place on April 29 this year, TASS reports. The action to preserve the historical memory will be held for the 3rd time.

According to State Duma deputy Alexander Khinshtein, this year it will be dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the beginning of the Great Patriotic War. Part of the questions will be about the tragic events of the first stage. They will also celebrate the anniversaries of famous commanders: Marshals Zhukov and Rokossovsky. This year marks 125 years since their birth.

Specialists from the Russian Historical Society (RHS), the Russian Military Historical Society and the Russian State University for the Humanities are working on the compilation of questions.

The head of the Foreign Intelligence Service, Sergei Naryshkin, who runs the RHS, stressed that the action was aimed at reminding of the inviolability of historical truth, to resist attempts to falsify history. The Victory Dictation, he noted, contributes to the formation of solid and deep knowledge about the Great Patriotic War, about the significance of the victory of the Soviet people over Nazi Germany.

The dictation consists of 25 questions.

The organizers expressed the hope that at least 12,000 sites will be created for the action, as the epidemiological situation is gradually changing for the better. They will work in many settlements, as well as at the bases of military units, educational institutions, even on ships and polar stations.

Traditionally, the Victory Museum will become the main site. For the first time, the action will take place at the Rzhev Memorial.
