The international competition of photo versions of paintings by famous artists and works of storytellers-illustrators "The World of Childhood and Fairy Tales" has opened a call for applications, which will last until June 1. Children and adolescents under 17 years old can take part in the competition, according to the project's Facebook page.

The organizers were the Russian-speaking cultural association  from the Moroccan city of Agadir, the author of the Bedtime Stories project Natalia Bohu, the head of the same project in Malaysia Alena Belozertseva, the International Association of Russian-speaking Compatriots in Malaysia.

The works of the participants will be considered in two categories. Young contestants can repeat canvases by famous artists depicting children or fairy tales, as well as present photo versions of works by Russian and Soviet illustrators and animators.

The organizing committee has already received several works, they are published on the page of the competition in Facebook. Nine-year-old Alina Zhbara from Lebanon was transformed into a character in Nikolai Rachkov's painting "Girl with Berries", and 8-year-old Adele Bekkaoui from Morocco repeated Ivan Kramskoy's painting "Portrait of Sergei's Son."

Three winners will be selected in each age category, and their names will be announced before the International Day of Fairy Tales, which is celebrated on June 7.
