The Herzen Russian State Pedagogical University in St. Petersburg will open a department to train teachers for work in foreign schools. The work is carried out within the framework of the Russian Teacher Abroad project, Evening Bishkek reports.

The project, which has been implemented for several years, is intended to popularize the Russian language and Russian education in other countries. Its participants provide methodological and practical assistance to teachers from other countries.

In 2019, the project was launched in the Kyrgyz city of Osh. In addition to Russian language specialists and primary school teachers, subject teachers work in Osh schools, teaching literature, mathematics, physics in Russian.

In addition, Russian teachers conduct extracurricular developmental classes and literary evenings dedicated to Russian culture. To increase the scale of the project, new personnel are required, which will be trained at the Russian State Pedagogical University.

The project in Kyrgyzstan is being implemented jointly by the relevant ministries of the two countries. During the visit of the Minister of Education of Russia Sergei Kravtsov to Kyrgyzstan, the parties agreed on the construction of Russian-language schools in this country, in which training according to the Russian program will be conducted. Russian teachers and methodologists will also take part in the work of educational institutions.
