Representatives of 22 countries were united by the ''This is my native language!'' international festival, InfoVostok news agency reported. Students of Russian universities from abroad fought for the victory in the creative competition. The organizer of the festival was the Far Eastern Federal University (FEFU), which is a partner of the Far Eastern branch of the Russkiy Mir Foundation.

The festival is held every year, its main goal is to preserve the world's cultural and linguistic diversity.

The university explained that restrictions aimed at countering the spread of coronavirus infection forced to hold the event online. They videos of the festival are published on the YouTube channel of the Center for Russian Language and Culture of the FEFU. Until the end of March, viewers can vote for the member they like the most.

The Internet has made it possible to reach a wider audience as well. It is very important that thanks to the competition, many more people will get an idea of the different languages of the world. At the beginning of their performances, the participants speak Russian about themselves and the content of the work. This contributes to the popularization and promotion of the Russian language.
