More than 1,000 Russian teachers will work abroad, Interfax reports. The Ministry of Education plans to send them to work in the next few years. According to the head of the department, Sergei Kravtsov, they will not only teach Russian, but they will also have another mission - to acquaint children with the riches of Russian culture.

The minister spoke about this during a speech at a meeting of the Council for Interethnic Relations. It took place on Tuesday, March 30.

Today, Russian teachers teach Russian to schoolchildren in Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan and Tajikistan, as well as in Serbia, Mongolia and Vietnam.

In Uzbekistan, the minister noted, the Russian department also works with preschool educational institutions. Schools will be built in Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan, where local children will study in Russian, and the educational process will be launched according to Russian standards.

This is necessary for applicants who plan to continue their studies at Russian universities. Those who come to Russia will be prepared for life in Russia, the minister explained.
