Irish and Russian high school students discussed their favorite books. Their meeting took place online. Russia was represented by students of the St. Petersburg gymnasium No. 540.

The students talked about books and writers that made a great impression on them. Among them were works by Pushkin, Dostoevsky, Swift, King.

The meeting was attended by a writer from Ireland, Keith Newmann. She introduced the young people to her latest work, "The Proximity of Ice: Arctic Convoys." In it, the author collected the memories of the Irish about how they took part in the Polar convoys, which during the war delivered military equipment, food and other aid to the howling people of the Soviet Union. The writer also shared her thoughts on Russian literature and Irish writers.

The next meeting will bring together Russian and Irish schoolchildren this week and is scheduled for April 8. Everyone from 8 to 13 years old is invited to participate.
