Russian figure skaters took 1st place at the team world championship, TASS reports. Russian athletes received 125 points. The American team took the 2nd place in the standings. The Japanese team closed the top three.

For the first time, the Russians managed to climb to the top step of the podium at such a tournament. The World Team Trophy took place in Japan and the skaters competed in Osaka.

Anna Shcherbakova came first among women. The silver medalist was the representative of the hosts of the tournament, Kaori Sakamoto. Another athlete from Russia, Elizaveta Tuktamysheva, received a bronze medal. In the short program, Tuktamysheva remained in 2nd place, leaving Shcherbakova ahead.

Russian athletes Anastasia Mishina and Alexander Gallyamov won in short and free programs among sports pairs. In ice dancing, the same result was shown by another Russian couple, Victoria Sinitsina and Nikita Katsalapov. The Russians were left without a gold medal only in the men's tournament.
