Anyone can participate in the Immortal Regiment march online. Acceptance of applications has already begun, RIA Novosti reports.

According to Elena Tsunaeva, co-chairman of the all-Russian public movement "Immortal Regiment of Russia",  a year ago, the organizers expected about 200,000 people to join the online action, but the number of participants exceeded 3 million.

Last year, due to restrictions aimed at combating coronavirus, the Immortal Regiment was held online for the 1st time. The action lasted 20 days, and the number of views of its broadcast reached 25 million. For all the time, about 3 million photographs and records of the participants in the war were shown.

The technological approach has changed this year. Now all the streams of the procession will be distributed among the regions. The action is slated for May 9 and each region will have its own streaming stream. The procession will be shown on local TV channels and will start at 15:00 local time. This will allow residents of each region to see all their fellow countrymen.

The procession of the Immortal Regiment action had to be postponed to June 24. The organizers expressed hope that the epidemiological situation will change for the better by this date.
