The effectiveness of the first Russian vaccine against coronavirus infection, Sputnik V, exceeded 97%, RIA Novosti reports. The representatives of the Gamelei Center, where the drug was created, said that this is evidenced by the results of a study of information about almost 4 million Russians who were vaccinated.

The study took into account indicators for a period spanning almost 4 months: from December last year to the end of March.

Russian scientists have promised that everyone will be able to get acquainted with their calculations, since the data will be published in a medical publication next month.

In turn, data published by the leading medical journal The Lancet showed vaccine efficacy at over 91,5%.
