The agreements reached through the United Nations Organization are a reliable basis for joint work of different countries to control and reduce greenhouse gas emissions, said Russian President Vladimir Putin during the summit on climate issues, the website of the President of the Russian Federation reports.

The Russian leader invited representatives of other states to join joint scientific research, invest in climate projects and develop low-carbon technologies. He considers it important to have broad and effective international cooperation in this area.

Vladimir Putin assured that Russia was interested in cooperation with foreign partners on climate and other global issues. He announced Russia's readiness "to offer a whole range of joint projects", as well as to provide preferences to foreign companies investing in clean technologies in Russia.

Global development is a very broad concept, the president believes. Climate problems, in particular, are closely related to such serious tasks as fighting poverty, reducing development gaps between countries, Vladimir Putin is sure. He expressed the hope that the current summit will help find effective solutions to the problem of climate change and other global challenges.
