The Czech authorities have decided to reduce the number of Russian diplomats in Prague to the number of Czech diplomats in Moscow, TASS reports. According to Jakub Kulganek, who heads the Czech foreign ministry, this was a reaction to the expulsion of 20 employees of the Czech embassy from Moscow. The diplomats must leave the Czech Republic by the end of next month.

According to the calculations of the Czech Foreign Ministry, at the moment the staff of the Russian embassy in the republic consists of 27 diplomats and 67 technical staff, and the Czech one in the Russian Federation consists of 5 diplomats and 19 technical employees.

Earlier, Czech Foreign Minister Jan Hamacek announced on Saturday that 18 employees of the Russian embassy must leave the country within 48 hours. The decision was made under the mythical pretext that they were allegedly related to the Russian special services. In turn, the Russian Foreign Ministry announced the expulsion of 20 Czech diplomats.
